Aangedreven door een Intel® Xeon® D processor, staat de krachtige enterprise-class TES-3085U open voor twee besturingssystemen – of het FreeBSD-gebaseerde QES of het Linux-gebaseerde QTS. Terwijl QES ondersteuning biedt aan ZFS voor de grootst mogelijke betrouwbaarheid en bijna onbeperkte snapshots, data-deduplicatie op blokniveau en real-time data-compressie, beschikt QTS over Qtier-technologie, SSD-cache en een overvloed aan waardevolle apps om opslagefficiëntie en het gebruik van diverse toepassingen te realiseren. De TES-3085U geeft de flexibiliteit van twee besturingssystemen om uit te kiezen, waardoor bedrijven geschikte besturingssystemen kunnen installeren op meerdere TES-3085U op basis van hun behoeften en doelstellingen in verschillende fases. De TES-3085U is met name nuttig door het bieden van all-flash-opslag dat tot 24 disk-bays en 6 speciale SSD-bays biedt voor caching.

Let op: Om van NAS-besturingssysteem te veranderen na een complete installatie, is het noodzakelijk om de harde schijven opnieuw te initialiseren en alle opgeslagen gegevens te wissen. Een externe back-up is vereist alvorens van NAS-besturingssysteem te wisselen.
